SPVM to Borrow Drones from Amazon to Help Surveil Walking Groups Consisting of Two or More People.

Following the SPVM’s successful borrowing of a helicopter from the Sûreté du Québec in an effort to help instill an air of dystopia and tyranny upon park goers last Friday night by hovering menacingly above the city with a searchlight on; the SPVM is now looking to borrow delivery drones from Amazon to help remind anyone out for a leisurely stroll that they’re under the watchful eye of the police.

‘The drones will ‘join’ groups of 2 or more as they walk down the streets of Montreal. We don’t want to say they’ll ‘follow’ you – that sounds too creepy; so we’re saying ‘join’ as in they’ll accompany you on your walk like a friend, or a dog, or a cat – have you seen how many people have been walking their cats during the pandemic? I’ve never seen that before. Wow,’ said Jean Gagnon – the head of the drone operation at the SPVM.

When asked how long these drones will be operational; Jean Gagnon replied with, ‘Yeah, I think it’s a new thing to walk your cat as I’ve never seen that before. I don’t think it’s a bad thing – why do dogs get to go outside and your cat just has to stay inside?’

The drones are expected to start operating at the end of the month as street closures come into effect.
